The Innovate Festival is jointly organized by JCDecaux Transport and MTR Corporation. The long-term business partners, each a titan in their own field, have been providing an effective platform to connect diversified advertising campaigns with the mass commuting population.
Pioneering the "street furniture" concept in 1964, the JCDecaux Group is the worldwide company that focuses exclusively on outdoor advertising and presents in all three principal segments of the outdoor advertising market: street furniture, billboard and transport advertising.
As the main subsidiary of the JCDecaux Group in Hong Kong and established in 1976, JCDecaux Transport, operated by JCDecaux Pearl & Dean Ltd, is the market leader in outdoor advertising sales in Hong Kong and manages the advertising sales concession for various projects including the MTR, Airport Express, Hong Kong International Airport, Pacific Place Passages and Macau International Airport.
Carrying an average of 4.0 million passengers every weekday, the MTR is regarded as one of the world's leading railways for safety, reliability, customer service and cost efficiency.
The MTR Corporation was established in 1975 with a mission to construct and operate, under prudent commercial principles, an urban metro system to help meet Hong Kong's public transport requirements.
In 2000, the Corporation was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The Corporation marked another major milestone in December 2007 when the operations of the Government-owned rail operator, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, were merged into the MTR, heralding a new era in the Hong Kong railway development.
The Corporation's nine railway lines, Airport Express, Light Rail and feeder buses form the artery of Hong Kong's transport system, providing efficient services to passengers. Passengers can also travel with ease to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Province in the Mainland of China using MTR's intercity railway services.
In addition to its railway operations, the Corporation is involved in a wide range of business activities including the development of residential and commercial projects, property leasing, and revenue from advertising, telecommunication services and international consultancy services.
From its starting base in Hong Kong, the Corporation has expanded into the Mainland of China and is undertaking a range of railway-related projects and consultancies internationally. The Corporation is involved in the operating of Beijing Metro Line 4, Shenzhen Metro Line 4, London Overground, Stockholm Metro and the Melbourne train network. The scope of the Corporation's consultancy business has also widened to cover cities across Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Europe.
